Story guide: The covenant with the wife of one’s youth comes into view.
Open this scene in the reader →14But you say, “Why?” Because Yahweh has been a witness between you and the wife of your youth, to whom you have been unfaithful, though she is your companion and your wife by covenant.
15Did not the one God make them? Yet a remnant of the Spirit was his. And what was the one seeking? Godly offspring. So guard yourselves in your spirit, and let no one deal treacherously with the wife of his youth.
16If he hates and divorces her, says Yahweh, the God of Israel, he covers his garment with violence, says Yahweh of Armies. So guard yourselves in your spirit, and do not act faithlessly.
